NOx Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)
NOx emission from boiler, burner, coal or gas fire power plant, incinerator, steel mill is an air pollutant that forms ground-level ozone under the exposure to sunlight. It is made up of combination of Nitric Oxide (NO) and Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2). Regulation governing NOx emission are tightening worldview. In Malaysia, emission threshold is currently 100ppm for gaseous fuel burner at 15% excess O2.
In this background, Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is the best available technology to combat this post-formation NOx emission. It injects ammonia into the exhaust gas at 300-400degC, passing through honeycomb or corrugated plate of catalytic surface. This facilitates NOx reduction by more than 80%, comfortably surpasses any current jurisdiction of emission limit.
DAV is distributor for Denox in Malaysia. Denox is China-based foremost vanadium-based catalyst manufacturer worldview. It is listed in Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company is also engaged in design and build of SCR system.
Denox and DAV work closely of project EPCC to determine the selection and sizing of the SCR equipment. That includes temperature control, catalyst type and size selection, ammonia injection design and slippage avoidance, to ultimately guarantee the emission requirement.
